What is the main cause of impotence? How is it managed/cured?

anne210 - July 19th, 2010 2:36 AM

it can be emotional: stress, anxiety, fear, depression and anger

it can also be physical: low testosterone level, side effects of medication and surgery, groin injuries, illness like kidney, heart disease and diabetes.

good news is that this is very treatable!

i always thought this was more of an emotional issue in the males. usually if they feel insecure especially about their sex organs or performance, they will have a hard time getting it up.

The medication was an issue for us. Not only did the heart disease medication of my partner cause him to have low sex drive, it also caused a bit of impotence. I guess this is to make sure that he does not get too excited and get a heart attack.

An erection occurs when blood vessels in the penis fill with blood, stiffening the organ. The process is sparked by sexual stimulation, which causes nerves in the brain and spine to signal arteries in the penis to expand. The inability to get or maintain an erection is called impotence.

Other possible reasons include homonal imbalances, prostate disease, diabetes, nerve disorders, medication side effects and psychological problems.

As it studied that a number of supplements, when taken together, may improve blood flow to the penis. So just try this tip. Who knows this can help a lot.

In addition to this, Vitamin C plays a role in keeping blood vessels supple, allowing them to expand and let more blood pass through. That this can have erection of the penis.

the inability to get or maintain an erection is called impotence, and the main cause is poor circulation and impaired blood flow through the penis, which is often the result of atherosclerosis(hardening of the arteries).
there are a number of supplements, when taken together , may improve blood flow to the penis.

I know there's an exercise for this one. It can strengthen penile muscles to prolong erection and combat ED.

If the exercise does not work there is always medication and therapy for trauma related ED.

JackieMae - September 6th, 2010 12:42 PM

It is said that Flaxseed oil and evening primrose oil contain different types of essential fatty acids that also improve blood flow.

KierLeen - September 6th, 2010 2:17 PM

Supplements that improve blood flow to the penis may also help prevent heart disease, because both disorders often involve blocked blood vessels.

although erectile dysfunction-also called impotence-occurs in men of all ages, it is more commonly experienced by men over 65. While most men with disorder see it only as interfering with their sexual performance, erectile dysfunction can sometimes be a first indication of other disease that -left untreated-can actually shorten your life.

octopere - September 12th, 2010 9:03 AM

one of the causes of erectile dysfunction is chronic diseases and disorders, it may be a warning of a more serious underlying disorder.
