Ever heard of globozoospermia?

It is male infertility issue that causes the heads of the sperm to become too rounded. This can lead to low motility rates in men.

Hey!

Is this the reason why some sperm find it hard to penetrate and fertilize the egg?

Ternalle - August 30th, 2010 11:52 AM

Oh! I think it is the reason why some sperm cells can not penetrate to the egg cells. Only one sperm is needed to penetrate to the egg cell which it may able to meet the egg, this sperm is the fastest swimmer then it failed to penetrate to the egg! How sad is the fate of this sperm.this may result to infertility.

globozoospermia can be caused by exposure to harmful and toxic chemicals which disturb the production of sperm in the testicles.

Sperms are needed to have three main parts, the head, the middlepiece, and the tail. The head contains the nucleus and the acrosome. The acrosome is an organelle at the tip of the sperm. It helps the sperm penetrate the egg. If it is rounded the result there may be a hardship of sperm in penetrating to the egg.
