Please explain what is a corpus luteum defect?

Mikoto - September 17th, 2010 1:43 AM

isnt the corpus luteum in the woman?

anyway, i cant exactly remember so im not sure but corpus luteum produces progesterone which prevents miscarriage.

so if you have corpus luteum defect you might have low levels of progesterone.

I'm not so sure but i think a kind of woman defect that would make her able not to give birth or to conceive.

Corpus luteum defect is very much controversial topic among the experts. It is believed as the cause of miscarriage especially during first trimester.

so if there is corpus luteum defect then the woman frequently experiences abortion/miscarriage?

Yes. if you have low progesterone, you are in danger of being unable to carry full term or have frequent miscarriages.
