hi, we have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now, both my husband and i have children from previous relationships and have been getting a little worried!i am three days late for my period and i took a midstream test last night and it showed a very very faint pink (not grey!) line then i took another one first thing this morning and it showed another slightly stronger but still very faint pink line. i am not sure if i am pregnant or not! surely if there is a line of any strength it means i got the hormone and i'm pregnant?? help!!!

if your having doubts with the test you did, I think it would be better to go to the clinic and confirm your suspicion. or you could try taking the test with 5 other test with different brands

FYI pls...

1) Usually, a faint line in the test area of a pregnancy test indicates a positive result - that you are pregnant. But you are probably wondering: Why is this line so faint?. Well, there are many reasons and most of them can be avoided if you pay attention to the way you take the test.

2) Appearance of two pink lines indicates that you are pregnant while presence of a single pink line tells you that you are not.

There can be several reason behind the appearance of a faint line on pregnancy test. The foremost cause is testing yourself for pregnancy too early, i.e., 6-7 days after sexual intercourse. At such a stage, the level of hCG is mostly not high enough to deliver a clear positive pregnancy test. Therefore, you should wait for at least 15 days or till you miss a period to get an accurate result and not a faint line on home pregnancy test.

i have learned from my friend just like this case. That faint line indicates positive. So, this follows that you are really pregnant.

In most cases, if the manufacturers instructions were followed properly, a faint line is a positive pregnancy test. Generally, any line that shows up is a result of HCG being detected in your urine. If you are unsure if you see a line or for further confirmation, it is a good idea to take a second test in a day or two.

Reason you might see a faint line on a home pregnancy test is testing too early w/c is one of the most common reasons for not getting accurate results from a home pregnancy test. Testing should be done no earlier than ten days after ovulation or ideally after having missed your period.

here's another common problem with testing is miscalculating when your period is due. BBT charting and writing down your cycle dates can help with any confusion.
