A friend is a vegetarian and having problems getting pregnant. Do you think eating meat will solve her problems?

bOrncOnfused - October 30th, 2010 3:07 AM

Im not sure if meat will solve her problems but eating a balanced diet will. there are minerals that are found in meat but not in vegetables.

example: B12 is found in milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs which the body needs to function properly.

for the best results I think your friend should eat from all food groups including meat. meat is rich in protein and while vegetables have protein too, meat is still the best source.

Maybe you can return to being a vegetarian after breastfeeding your baby?

I have nothing about vegetarians but if we want the best for our baby's health then I think we should eat the right kinds of food if you want to have a healthy pregnancy.

A woman who wants to get pregnant should get adequate nutrition. This is in preparation for the baby. I dunno if you should include meat but I dont think being a vegetarian will influence fertility.

A "balanced diet" means meat. Therefore it should be included in the diet.

Is that even a word - vegetarianism? hehehe :P
But i don't believe that BS that a woman can't get pregnant only becose she eats veggies. Plain crap that is what that idea is!

Thank you ladies, and Ramona, it is a word. I just used it didn't I?
lol

Eating meat will make NO difference to her problems. As long as she has a balanced diet and eats sensibly it is perfectly ok to be a Veggie trying to get pregnant - a huge quantity of the people in Asia have been veggies for generations and the population numbers are just fine.

just because she is vegetarian doesn't mean she can't get pregnant. it can be caused by a lot of things, she may be too stressed, or maybe it's jsut not her time yet
