Hi all
Am a newbie at this so bear with me.
I am 33, in good health and myself and my hubbie are about to start trying for our first baby in a couple of months. I have a few worries and wondered if anyone could offer advice.
1) I have been on the pill for 16 years, will this affect my chances of getting pregnant?
2) Wonder how long it will take to get out of my system. One friend took a year to get pregnant after stopping and another 4 weeks!
3) Had a miscarriage at 14-15 weeks when I was 20, worried this may affect my chances of having a baby.
As you can tell, I am generally worried about all of it but can anyone offer advice so I dont spontaneously combust?
Please help
Many thanks
Jo x

hello jlc1978,

There is no reason to worry about becoming pregnant after you stop taking the pill. The pill will in no way affect your fertility and more than 90% of pill-users become pregnant within a year of coming off the pill. This being said, it does take some women longer to become pregnant after stopping the pill. Typically, it takes about three months for full fertility to return.

Getting pregnant after one or two miscarriages is not difficult. It's normal for a woman who had a previous miscarriage to be anxious that she might lose.

hope i help you in this way.. :D

dont worry jlc1978. i have heard a lot of stories of women who had miscarriage but still getting into pregnant, and they are now happy with their baby. A miscarriage should not prevent you from becoming pregnant again

it's true, there are women who went thru miscarriage but they are successful in their pregnancy after miscarriage..just think positive :)

Hi! i have an auntie who is like you had used pill but for 14 years, and had misscarriage at 20 weeks.. however, at first she is also worried like you.. Good news was, she got pregnant normally no complications, but it was longer time after using the pill. it takes 6months for her to get pregnant.

Hi jlc1978!

you should fight your worries. the best thing you must do for you not to worry is consult a doctor and address all your questions

don't be too much worry this can't help you but will stress you... you should not worry coz there are many women who went thru as your experienced but they still get into pregnant and successful pregnancy

don't worry but be happy... yeah this can help you rather than worrying for nothing can help... possible you'll have longer time to get pregnant like my bestfriend but you have a positive chance to become pregnant again.
