TRUTH OR FACT: COFFEE IS NO LONGER HARMFUL TO YOUR BABY IN THE WOMB AND IT'S GOOD TO DRINK IT DURING PREGNANCY?

heatherlyn - July 2nd, 2010 3:00 PM

Yes, coffee is safe to drink during pregnancy. But in moderation, not too much. Actually, in recent studies, it's being found out that coffee is also good in enhancing fertility.

wow really? pls share the link of the study. i would really love to read this as surviving without coffee is really hard!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, an article which I've read that coffee can help in enhancing fertility but not too much. Everything has its own measurement.

It's an anti-oxidant but won't caffeine have detrimental effects for the baby? Most Americans consume 4 cups of coffee upwards and this amount of stimulant is already alarming.

I would still rather avoid drinking coffee during pregnancy. Some women drink decalf but I'm not too sure if having all that caffeine in your system is OK for the baby. Its a small sacrifice anyway.

Yeah, I think it's good that during pregnancy, let's not only think of what we like to eat or drink but..we should also put into consideration what foods and drinks are good for our baby. Maybe by preventing one can't kill us, right?

Truth or fact???

300mg (around 3 cups) or more can affect fertility. so if you want to get pregnant, reduce your coffee intake to 1-2 cups per day. if you can, go without coffee.

In men, studies have shown that it can affect sperm motility. So tell hubby to lay off the java for a while.

I have not had coffee in over a year!!! sigh...
