A bit Out of Topic but what is a chemical pregnancy?

Ive been hearing about it for a while but have no idea what it is...

Chemical pregnancy is a very early miscarriage. This is the term used for a pregnancy that is terminated even before a heartbeat could be seen in an ultrasound.

So sometimes this sorts of pregnancies are not detected at all unless you test very early, right?

Chemical pregnancy or very early miscarriage is very common among women. About 60% of women experience this without them knowing that they were pregnant in the first place. A chemical pregnancy can't be prevented. However, a doctor should be able to treat you so it lessens the chance of it occurring again.

Thanks a bunch for explaining. I though it was a fancy term for miscarriage, but I guess there is more to that.

I wonder where they got the name for it. So if I understood right, women who have chemical pregnancy are those who are most likely infertile?
