can anovulation be cured with natural medication or even otc meds?

Heart7654 - July 18th, 2010 7:54 PM

i think it would be something with hormones as hormones control when we ovulate and when we shed our uterine lining. so it can be birth control pills. not too sure with the natural meds though.

they give you meds like Follitropin Alfa or Gonal-F or even birth control pills. They will also recommend lifestyle and dietary changes.

i think doctors would prescribe medication rather than have these kinds of medicine be bought otc. anovulation is hormonal imbalance and so progesterone and even bcp can be given to regularize the period.

i had problems with ovulation due to PCOS. I was told to lose weight and take birth control pills.

Anovulation is a big problem. With irregular periods the problem is with the ovulatory period. But when there is no ovulation to begin with, this posts equally complicated problems for couples TTC.

to marcy:

I guess this is because of the hormones that caused the anovulation?

But you'll get pregnant once the anovulation is cured?

I think anovulation can be cured by birth control pills and some other fertility drugs. But to be very sure, ask the doctor about it.
