if a woman has infrequent menstrual periods does it also mean that she ovulates irregularly?

is it OK for a woman in her 30's to menstruate twice a year?

Menstruation is one of the the byproducts of ovulation. So yes you menstruate because you ovulate.

I dont think it is OK to menstruate irregularly at any age. This could be a sign of hormonal problems.

I think so too. And my gynecologist once told me that it is important that periods become regular by the time a woman reaches her late teens.

Women's cycles by nature are meant to be at least once a month. That is the normal. Then there are the not-so-normal and out-of-the-normal periods. Having it twice a year, now that is not OK for sure. It's beyond normal.

I find it abnormal that a 30 year old woman still has not visited a GYN by this time. We all know that menstruation is important so having regular periods mean that we are able to predict ovulation and get pregnant easily.
