Is it true that irritable bowel syndrome can cause female infertility? how so?

Janelle - April 12th, 2011 8:25 AM

Based on research, it has been found out that a large portion of women of child-bearing age suffer from IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. There is no direct link, on the other hand, that IBS lowers a woman's ability to conceive. Women can rest assured that infertility is not a cause of IBS.

Despite this, there are several known cases of women who are prone to constipation to suffer it even more during pregnancy.

Women who have IBS are often malnourished so it's hard for them to conceive. The body is already finding it hard to nourish itself let alone another "occupant".
