What is a varicocele and how does it affect male fertility?

anne210 - May 22nd, 2010 4:58 PM

"...is an abnormal enlargement of the vein that is in the scrotum draining the testicles...

it affects sperm and semen quality and can contribute to infertility. this is operable. but some men with this condition can father kids the "normal" way.

Is varicocle treatable. If it is, is it through medication or surgery. What are its symptoms?

Varicocele is the same as varicose veins which is also a swelling of the veins. This just happen to guys but guys are not open to share this kind of thing to their other guy pal because this issue is too sensitive for them, since it's related to infertility problems.

so with the larger vein, the sperm has trouble getting out?

but it is still good to know that while opearable, there are still men that can get women pregnant without surgical intervention.

thanks!

Sometimes with names like Varicocele I imagine that its a scary condition. thank God that it's operable and some can still become dads! is there medicine for this? I mean an alternative to the surgery?

It is the swelling of veins above the testicles. Same as having varicose veins in the legs. I think it can affect male fertility because having this, can lower the sperm count.

It is possible of male infertility but there is also possible the it can still have a fertility case. It is not so threatening, only sometimes there's an obstruction of the flowing of sperm cells.
