A study in Brisbane has confirmed that men who use cell phones for very long periods of time have 40% lower sperm count than men who use their cell phones sparingly.

Cellphone have radioactive waves so maybe this is the one that can cause for lower sperm count.

But how much is too much cellphone use?

Chloe88 - July 19th, 2010 3:03 PM

Maybe if you spend hours and hours on the phone is bad. Remember that they give off radiations!

Aw shucks! And here I thought that it was already proven on Myth Busters that things like this are not true!

Orion_99 - August 22nd, 2010 3:07 AM

How about the one about a Xerox machine??? Is it true that if you operate a Xerox machine you could become barren due to the rays???

The modern technology now a days is in demand. this kind of communication if you use it in a long period of time may cause damaged to your ears. So be careful in using it .

LOL... Mythbusters!

I don't think there's truth in this, Unless you use your phone 24/7.

NadineChoo - August 30th, 2010 2:27 AM

I think the keyword here is overuse.

Cellphones have become an indispensible part of life today. But if you abuse it (and everything else) it will have a bad effect.

It is a fact that over use may cause damaged, oh, whatever it is if you use it abnormally it may result bad. But the focus of this is can it resulted infertility? Through radiation, it may be resulted bad. But if this gadget be used in a rightly manner then it may not cause harm.

A recent study presented at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine may cause some men to watch how much they talk on cell phones. Using their cell phones endlessly, may have some affect on their sperm. The study, done by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic, evaluated 361 men and found the more they chatted on the cell phone, the bigger the impact on their fertility. It can affect their sperm’s motility, mobility, and shape.

If brain cancer wasn't bad enough, it seems that cell phone use may also contribute to an increase in male infertility, which could be a huge problem if you're trying to conceive. According to a 2008 observational study by the Reproductive Research Center, use of cell phones has been shown to decrease the semen quality in men by decreasing the sperm count, motility, viability, and normal morphology. The decrease in sperm parameters was dependent on the duration of daily exposure to cell phones and independent of the initial semen quality.

use of cellphone has a harmful effects on male fertility - a decrease in semen quality. The decrease in sperm count, motility, viability, and normal morphology is related to the duration of exposure to cell phones.
