"Antisperm antibodies are one immune factor which could be involved in infertility. Antisperm antibodies are cells that fight against normal, healthy sperm. If you have antisperm antibodies, instead of seeing sperm as natural cells, your immune system fights against your sperm and destroys them. This prevents you from producing any viable sperm. Though still to be proven, there is evidence that antibodies against sperm can result in male infertility."

I found it on the internet. So basically, your immune system hinders you from producing healthy sperm.

so its like your body fights off your sperm causing them to die. it treats sperm like it does bacteria. oh wow! good info!

Thanks for the information, but I am confused about this matter how this anti-bodies present in the physical system, is it through the foods we have eaten?

Joannie - June 29th, 2010 3:54 AM

so your body attacks the sperm coz its the enemy. so its autoimmune?

sperm fighting off sperm...sounds like an alien movie!

but thanks to BabeJohnson. That info you posted was helpful. I never knew that guys can have this condition!

To Queecy: Autoimmune means "self". So in reference to anti-sperm antibodies, it means that it is an automatic response of the body to an invader. Just like the automatic response of a body to the cold virus or to germs and bacteria. It is automatic, programmed. It is our first line of defense. In this case it mistakes the sperm as the enemy. Which is why it is a disorder because sperm is not the enemy :)...if you want to get pregnant! :D

I have no knowledge about this matter that there are antibodies which is an enemy to its own, this is not good, it should be treated immediately, or you can not be able to conceive.
