I am a football player in my senior year at a local college. I am one of the LBs, that's a defensive position, therefore lots of physical contact happens during practice and actual games. It is not unusual that we get hit in the groin area lots of times by accident or sometimes deliberately from the opposing team.

Although we wear thick padding, it still hurts because of the force of the impact. This got me worried. I've been hit in the nuts more than I could count. With exposures such as mine, will this affect me in the long run? You know what I mean.

Don't you have regular check ups? Sports that involves physical contact always run the risk of "breaking" something in the athletes body. Are you feeling something down there? Or you would not be writing in this forums out of spite. Have it checked before it is too late.
