Some would recommend the use of birth control pills to correct irregular periods. Anyone tried it and proved its effectiveness?

Yes, it is helpful. My sister in law had irregular cycles although not that lone like 6 months, she only delays for a month. When she took bc pills, one of the side effect is having a regular cycle.

Yes, that's one of the side effects of birth control pills. It also has other benefits such as making the skin smoother.

Yes, have tried this when I was young. I used to menstruate very infrequently due to fluctuating hormone levels. This caused irregular and infrequent periods so my gynecologist put me on BCP which corrected and regularized my period.

I hear it helps regulate periods, so when you get off it, it should make it easier to predict ovulation!

I can confirm that this bc pills can really help to regulate mentruation. I had a problem of my menstrual cycle there were 4 or 6 consecutive months that no menstrual visit in me but when my ob-gyne advice me to try taking the bc pills after one month my menstrual cycle start to visit me every month.

It makes periods more predictable. When I was on the pill, I could literally time my periods. I always get my period 6 days after I take the last pill at around 8 am. :)

hmmm... my wife went through a hormone therapy routine to correct her ovulatory problems because of her PCOS. I'm not sure if it was BCP but her periods were regular during the time she used the hormones.
