Hiya!

Just signed up this morning in the hope of picking your brains for some info. Pretty please!

Can anyone suggest or recommend a private infertility clinic or hospital in the North East area? I don't qualify for NHS treatment due to my age and after having a couple of conditions unmonitored and misdiagnosed by the NHS (leading to possible infertility now) I really would rather fund any treatment myself.

Please don't get me wrong, someone who has access to free healthcare has no right to complain about it. Think of how many countries in the world have very little or even no free healthcare including the U.S! I have nothing but respect and admiration for doctors and especially nurses who I think are overworked and underpaid and doing their best in a system that it clearly flawed and ill. It's just my own personal circumstances that have led me to this decision.

If you have had a particular experience with a doctor or clinic either negative or positive I'd love to hear about it. Even if the treatment you received didn't work but you were please with everything else, I'd still like to hear about it.

I'm based in the North East but would be willing to get to York, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, etc if need be. It seems that almost everything I've found that doesn't 'appear' to have a waiting list is in London. London is kind of a last resort as it would be more difficult to get to, but I'll do what I have to do so if someone has something to say about London too then I'm all ears.

I also have looked into a couple of places here in the North East that take NHS patients as well as private patients. I would prefer strictly private, again because of personal experience only, not any negative connotations, but like I said above, I'll do what I have to do.

What a long winded way of saying I want some stories!

MANY thanks,

Flossie
