What is the percentage of twinning or multiple births when undergoing IVF. I know it's fairly common but I would appreciate some stats and numbers!

Thanks ladies!

It is 25-30% higher for couples undergoing IVF. The probability of twins is 1/4 births and 1/22 for triplets...

hope this was what you were looking for.

Wow! 25%. I know it's great having twins (my brother & his wife have twins via IVF) but I also know how expensive raising two kids can be. I guess this is one of the risks one has to understand when undergoing fertility treatments.

I agree with John. Unless you're terribly well off, most middle class families would have a hard time affording the ivf treatments plus the cost of having twins. So these are some points to ponder for couples, eh?

sounds about right. i heard this from our specialist too. ivf carries this risk. you should think about it coz having more than one kid inside the womb can be dangerous for the mom and baby.

You know if it will happen it would likely to happen. Do not hesitate to the power of God. Just have a hopeful heart.
