Are embryos to be implanted screened from possible genetic diseases?

Wells - August 18th, 2010 3:10 AM

They should be! I think the bank takes a history of the donor to ensure that there are no genetic diseases in their donated embyros.

Definitely! It's very important to have the screening just to make sure that the embryos are free from some kind of genetic diseases.

in this case, it needs a thorough screening but sometimes there are cases which the effect is beyond expectation. the result of some would not be the result of the other.

I think that if it is a donated embryo then there is screening from the donors. However if it is your embryo then I think there should be no problem as medical history is documented during a fertility treatment.

yes. pre genetic screening is not only practicial it should be a must.

I would rather have the embryos screened than end up with a sick child. like pandora_88 said, it is practical this way. The cost of IVF is already high enough.

they should be! I would not want a sick embryo!!!
