Some cancer treatments or drugs believes to have effects on a person's fertility. It is the most common concern on women. Some studies introduce an option that can help such patient. One of which is to freeze the ovary while on treatment and will just transplant it back once cured and ready to ttc. How do you feel about it?

isnt that quite risky? most cancer patients have more than 1 dose of treatment for chemo or radiation... so the uterus is frozen, unfrozen, frozen and unfrozen again everytime there's treatement? i dont think that's wise or viable.

all procedures have risks. if i were to have cancer then i would give up on a baby and focus on getting well and beating cancer. maybe its a sign that a baby is not meant to be.

so then you do an ivf after the chemo or radiation therapy. but after the therapy is the woman's uterus strong enough or not...radioactive? can it carry a baby full term after treatment?

cancer treatments are dangerous in a sense that they can be destructive on a cellular level. therefore it can be harmful to egg and sperm cells. chemo and radiaton can also cause ovary collapse in women.

it can damage some vital parts of the body, and that it is include the fertility . its treatment needs a high dosage, that may affect the egg cells of the woman.

It's a calculated risk. You get your life back at the risk of losing the chance to be a parent. So it's a personal call.

But between dying and becoming a parent, I would rather just be child free. It's not really worth dying for a child that I have not met since he or she is just a figment of my imagination.

its ok with me but full of risks. the problem with cancer treatments is that it interferes if you want to ttc. i am OK with freezing an ovary but i would rather have it reinserted via ivf.
