I'm tired of letting my body go because I'm afraid exercising will hurt a fertilized egg, but you know what? Month after month I'm still not pregnant and I'm just getting fatter!

So my question is this, is it okay to exercise in the 2WW? I am not running, last night I went to the gym and did some power walking on the treadmill for 30mins. Afterwards I did some crunches and sit ups as well as some lifting for my arms, only 8lbs.

Am I an idiot for doing this?

What type of exercise do any of you suggest? Or would you say to not work out at all in the 2WW?

HELP!

I think it's ok to exercise in the tww, bcos you can still exercise when your pregnant but just not on the stomach. I am still exercising in fact I better go I'm going to Zumba tonight which starts at half 6 lol

I say go for it. I trained 20+ hours a week until I learned I was pregnant (including in the TWW) - now I'm exercising rather than training but I'm still moving...got to combat the eating somehow!

As long as you don't over exert yourself you'll be fine - moving is good for your head aswell as you heart.

Good luck with TTC, fingers crossed for you

i would say it would be fine good even! get all that blood pumping around your body! i have done a military training programme in the 2ww

Unless you are having serious problems ttc then the tww should be fine.

Then when you are pregnant you just need to make sure you're not doing anything that you weren't doing before and obviously cut out any heavy/strength training or very high intensity cardio in the 1st tri whilst your body catches up with you... you can still do core work it actually helps with the labour!

I've been wondering the same thing about whether or not it's ok to exercise during the 2ww. I've seen conflicting info. We have been ttc for 8 months and no luck yet. I usually do about 45 mins of cardio a day, 5 days a week. After some of the things I read I decided maybe that's why I hadn't gotten my BFP. So this month I haven't done as much and I already feel like such a fat ass! Ugh...trying to decide what to do and not to do is so hard!

My doctor said no matter ttc or everyone should try to get in at least 30 minutes a day, even if its a walk, jog, brisk walk.

But if you are working out hard like trianing for a marathon type, then you can run into problems, becuase your hormones get all messed up.

So im trying to at least 30 minutes a day doing a power walk on the treadmill.
