Greetings to everyone!

Does anybody know what truly is the exact period in days is a woman fertile at ovulation time? Some say it is only a few hours to a day. Others say 3 to 5 days. What is the correct one? Answers please and thanks in advance.

During a woman's ovulation time, the egg is available for fertilization for only about 12 to 24 hours. That short window of opportunity, huh? But, wait a minute! Sperm can survive in the woman's body up to 3 to 5 days. With that in consideration, the most fertile time for a woman is considered to be about 5 to 7 days.

I think they are talking specifically about being fertile rather than ovulation. As Patty said above, the egg is available only for 12-24 hrs. That is why having intercourse before ovulation is best instead of during or after.
