can high fsh levels mean that you have poor egg quality?

raquel_q - September 6th, 2010 3:07 AM

yes. high fsh levels is usually a sign of declining egg quality. high fsh is common in older women which is why they are asked to do FSH test.

im not sure about the fsh levels but age can make your eggs decline in quality especially if you are near menopausal.

Orion_99 - September 8th, 2010 3:15 AM

so it means that if your fsh levels are high you have poor eggs or is near menopausal?

j@n@ - September 9th, 2010 3:54 AM

I thought high fsh levels meant that you are ovulating]?

now im confused! :(

jon - September 10th, 2010 3:15 AM

It usually indicated declining ovarian function. However this does not mean that the woman cannot get pregnant. Just more challenging. :D

High FSH levels are a sign of declining egg quality. I remember that my mom had an FSH test during the onset of her menopausal phase.

I think declining egg quality would be a better description for high FSH levels.

DoNnA - September 13th, 2010 3:38 AM

this is usually an indication that the woman is nearing her menopausal phase...

If you have high fsh levels then the eggs are declining in quality. i think it would be better if you had some harvested and then frozen for future use.

Yes, having high fsh level can also do mean that your production of egg declines..but have it check with your doctors to make sure.

fhina - September 19th, 2010 1:54 AM

So if you have high fsh level and poor in egg quality, does it mean that you can't conceive or don't have chances of giving birth?
