What's an FSH test? Is it an accurate gauge of ovulation?

I was given and FSH test to find out whether I had low sperm count. Women are given this sort of test to find out why they have abnormal menstrual cycle. Its a good test to find out if there is a problem in the ovaries or testes.

Menstration does not mean ovulation. Learned that the hard way. If you want to know if you are ovulating, then do an ovulation test.

the pituitary gland secretes FSH and LH. FSH stimulates the egg to mature in the follicles in the ovary, and it is triggered to release estrogen into the bloodstream.

I never knew that it would apply to males as well. This is through the blood right?

Yes, FSH levels is determined in the blood. I have no idea how this is corrected though.
