what is Estradiol Level testing? Is it painful? y_y

I got this from sharedjourney, another website we frequent as it deals with infertility too:

"The estradiol test is a diagnostic procedure used to measure the levels of estradiol in your blood stream. It is performed in conjuction with the Day 3 FSH test. A simple blood test, the estradiol test is performed in order to determine a woman's ovarian reserve. It is also performed in order to confirm a woman's FSH test."

Since it is just a blood test, theres no need to be scared! :D

High estradiol levels can mean declining egg reserves, right?

Michael_ArchAngel - October 31st, 2010 1:32 PM

Yes. High etradiol means declining egg quality. Women with high estradiol levels are also at risk for endometrial cancer.

High FSH, high estrogen all mean that a woman might be approaching her menopause years.

All kinds of hormones in the body needs to be balanced. If hormones are unbalanced then it is hard to get pregnant as ovulation gets affected.

LOL Lorne... you should be used to some pain right now.

I used to be scared of needles but after being poked and probed for the last few years I've gotten used to it... :D

According to sharedjourney,

Estradiol is actually a type of estrogen, which is the major female reproductive hormone. Estradiol is the primary type of estrogen, and it is produced in your ovaries. As they grow and develop, your egg follicles secrete estradiol, helping to trigger the rest of the reproductive cycle.
