I do work out to stay healthy and I have read that it may cause low sperm count. Is it true?

supermom - June 2nd, 2010 11:26 PM

exercising is helpful and haven't heard that it may cause such problem. where did you get that?

LetsDoIt! - June 2nd, 2010 11:32 PM

I've read it somewhere when I searched about working out and its effects on fertility.

No, I beg to disagree! Exercise can't cause you infertility as a matter of fact it can boost your fertility and by doing it on a regular bases, you can increase your chances of conceiving.

Depends on the exercises you've been performing I guess. If you've done extreme exercises, then that would be very dangerous to your infertility.

That is true Sonny, excessive exercising like regular lifting is not really very good for fathers or mothers that are planning to have a baby. You should slow down and choose only the exercises that are normal.

if your testicles are overheated during exercise then maybe? if you get too hot down there, you can produce less sperm as compared to during optimal temperature so maybe...but its a long shot and maybe something for the Mythbusters... LOL!

LetsDoIt! - June 6th, 2010 10:29 PM

I guess it is true. I have to lighten up a bit and just do the normal exercises. Thanks for the insights.

maybe if your balls are overheated and if you stay long in the sauna. sperm production slows down when the testes is exposed to too much heat.

normal exercise is advisable and not the real work out. i wonder how gym instructors or body builders be able to have babies.

When you workout it should be balance in the food you intake. It should not be done excessively. There are exercise which can cause infertility but not all exercise can cause infertility so in doing exercise it must be consulted from a doctor who have studied in line to this matter.
