i can say yes..coz my brother had done with surgical treatment. it was really successful and really a great help in his impotence problem. Anyway, the doctor advises you too if ever there are complications.

All other alternatives to treat male sexual impotence that don't require surgery must be exhausted first before resorting to one. That is what doctors recommend.

Implants are common too, when surgery is not an option. It can be permanent or activated. Permanent means the man's penis will be erect all the time because of the implant. Activated is when a device at the base of the scrotum when triggered will cause the penis to be erect only when needed. Anyway, that is the general idea.

Finally surgery is suggested if the impotence is treatable due to irregular blood flow to the penis, for example.

There are more than one treatment to impotence that requires surgery. Depending on what kind of surgery is done to you, and what conditions/issues you have that may complicate things during the procedure. But before surgery is done, your doctor already made sure that everything is perfect.

So, the general answer is YES, it is safe.
