Is it true that smoking is the main cause of having hormonal imbalance in men?

jinky - June 26th, 2010 6:33 AM

Actually there is really no proof that smoking is the main cause for having hormonal imbalance in men. The increased risks of cancer due to smoking represent further threat to testosterone level.

I dunno about smoking and hormonal imbalance but smoking and low sperm count go hand in hand. So if you want to increase those babies, quit smoking and see an improvement in your numbers right away.

Not totally the main reason, but one of the many reason..there are men who don't smoke but they still have hormonal imbalance.

Nothing good can be had from smoking. Aside from the fertility issues lots of cancers are linked to smoking and not just lung and throat cancer. Stop smoking now!

Smoking can really cause infertility for both men and women. Chemicals and toxins that are present in all cigarettes, may alter cervical fluid, making it toxic to sperm that cause pregnancy hard to achieve.

I used to smoke up to 3 packs a day. After my mom died of lung cancer I quit. That was 5 years ago and even though I came out clean during our fertility check up (partner has low motility) it still makes me guilty to this day!

Avoid cigarette smoking. Reports say that risk of a smoker's first myocardial infarction is 2.5 times higher than that of a nonsmoker. Besides nicotine, cigarette smoke contains poisons which cause heart disease and stroke.,and so is the infertility . What do you think?

Smoking is dangerous to our health. It is always proven true..I don't know why lot of people is still hooked for this kind of habit. Think they don't even care what would happen to them. They are so irresponsible!

Hi,
Yes it it true that smoking is the main cause of having hormonal imbalance in men.
Here are some harmful effects of smoking:

1. Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.

2. The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure.

3. This can also cause heart attacks and stroke

4. Tar coats your lungs like soot in a chimney and causes cancer.

5. Heart disease and strokes are also more common among smokers than non-smokers.

6. In younger people, three out of four deaths from heart disease are due to smoking.

7. Cigarette smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of low birth weight, prematurity, spontaneous abortion, and perinatal mortality in humans, which has been referred to as the fetal tobacco syndrome.

8. Many substance founds in cigarettes may harm the ovaries

9. It can also cause ED problems in men.
