What is it and how can it affect male fertility?

Theamae - October 7th, 2010 9:11 AM

It is excess of the hormone called prolactin, which can also lead to metabolic imbalances. And since you can have metabolic imbalances, then probably, it's also the effect of it in male fertility?

I think this one affects the production of sperm in males.. though not 100% sure on that one.

Needs to consult this matter to a certain doctor to really know what is it. And what is the effect really of this to male fertility.

According to wikipedia it is the presence of abnormally-high levels of prolactin in the blood.

It can cause ED in men which makes it hard for them to impregnate women.

Prolactin in women causes infertility because their bodies think that they are breast feeding. So in men you get erectile dysfunction. How is it treated?

PoshMama - October 13th, 2010 2:52 AM

ED can be treated with Viagra, therapy or exercise. Some men do well without medication while some need it. I guess like every medical case, it is a case to case basis.

there is an exercise that men with ED do I just forgot the name...

i thought that only women had proclactin disorders because of the breastfeeding!!!

Never knew that it could affect males as well.

We all have prolactin. In women it is for nursing. But too much can be a bad thing. For the guys I hear that this can cause ED which makes it hard to impregnate a woman.
