Is it true that a drug addict father has a big chance in giving unhealthy baby? The sperm cells that he may produce is not as healthy as those who aren't drug addicts?

i know druggies who are fathers so I dunno if their kids are "damaged" or not. I still believe in the evolution of species even for drug addicts so perhaps nature will do the right thing and let the most superior sperm survive.

We know that alcohol has adverse affects on the child, and how much more for illegal drugs, if the mother takes it? Even prescribed drugs can be harmful to a pregnant woman's unborn child.

On the part of the father, I have doubts. It is in the genes. Could drug addiction alter that by much? Maybe if the addiction is too severe. I would readily believe that it can impact a man's fertility.
