Spermatogenesis (sperm production) is continuous and requires about 72 to 74 days for maturation. Production is most efficient at 34 degrees centigrade (93.2 degrees Fahrenheit), so exposure to excessive heat or prolonged fever within 2 to 3 months of sperm analysis can adversely affect sperm count, motility and morphology (size, shape). |

A low grade fever prolly will just "stun" production temporairly, for about a week or so. but a more severe fever, especially one that requires hospitalization can greatly impact sperm production for several months. This doesn't mean you'd be sterile, but there definately wouldn't be as many viable sperm available. |

The flu slows sperm production. An illness that causes a fever can affect sperm production and sperm quality. But it won't affect fertility for two to three months, since it takes sperm 75 days to mature. |

Any illness that causes a fever can affect sperm production and sperm quality |

According to holistic-health-lifestyledotcom : "A high fever can affect a man’s sperm, with lasting effects." |

does it follows, that mens' fertility lessens everytime he has a fever? |

Maybe, but you can still recover your fertility after the fever..lolz! |

My husband has flu and has been running a temp. tuesday night it was about 102.3. Since then it has been low grade. We miscarried on 8-8-09 and I just got my period on 9-20-09. I was just wondering how the temp will affect his sperm or us trying to conceive? |
not that much impact, maybe the sperm produced during the fever might be weaker, but the sperm he ejaculates today was actually generated about 30 or 32 days ago, and has been maturing until ready for release. So it should be fine. |

I think it would be a factor, I remember instructions that hot tempratures lowers sperm count, and tight underwear doesn't help either. |

To much heat will kill the sperm. i don't know how hot is to hot. |
sperm that is used today was made about a month ago. |

A temperature at or above the body temperature ( about 98.6 degrees F.) may negatively affect the sperms and sperm production. That means he may produce less sperms and it can take 10-11 weeks for new sperms to be made. |

No..if this happen then i'm not here posting in this forum.. lolz.. |
