is there an ideal thickness to the uterine lining to make implantation of embryos during IVF more successful?

marcy - August 27th, 2010 3:46 AM

uterine lining is around .4 cm thick. I think this is the ideal thickness for implantation.

NOt too sure. but it does have to be thick enough for the embryo to burrow itself in.

I had to undergo D&C once due to irregular menstrual cycle and the OB/GYN mentioned that the uterus thickens to about .4 cm per month. I had already missed my period for two months and my uterine lining was at 1 inch already.

I don't think there is a required or an ideal thickness of the uterine lining, it is because we have individuality. The only things to think is the capacity of the uterus in housing the fetus inside.

not required but ideal.

some women have light periods some have heavy. this has something to do with how much uterine lining you shed.

Or maybe a light period can mean that not all the uterine lining is shed???

is this possible?

But I agree that it has to be thick enough for the embryo to implant. Otherwise it will just be expelled during menstruation.
