have you guys looked into TET or tubal embryo transfer?

Heart7654 - September 19th, 2010 5:47 PM

nope. have not heard of this. what does this entail? is it expensive like IVF and ZIFT?

Mikoto - September 20th, 2010 4:15 AM

"TET involves taking eggs from the woman, fertilizing them in the laboratory with her partner's sperm and transferring the resulting embryos back to her fallopian tubes 2 days after fertilization"

~from advancedfertility dot com

From what I read this is rarely used anymore. Probably why this is the first time Ive read about it too. I think the more modern procedure for this is ZIFT.

Woow! Thanks for the information you have there, Mikoto. I have never heard of this before too. That's why I'm already curious. But based on the info, i think it's really a long way process.

Nope, we haven't look into it yet because we still gathering lots of info's about how safe it would be in a process..

I think Zift is more expensive than IVF but I have been hearing good results about them. However, not all women can undergo Zift.

That's the good thing about technology. It is always improving. I hear that ZIFT is more expensive yes, but not all women can have ZIFT just like not all women can have IVF. It depends on the infertility problem.

So ZIFT is like the modern equivalent of TET?

jinky - October 14th, 2010 7:22 AM

So that means to say that ZIFT is more effective than TET? Since it's modernized already.
