What is involved in a post coital test? We are suggested to have one.

Post coital test is a test that evaluates fertility. A test may be used if a woman is unable to get pregnant.

A postcoital test checks a woman's cervical mucus after sex to see whether sperm are present and moving normally.

some women have hostile cervical mucus which kills of a lot of sperm. I had this test and found out that my mucus is hostile making it more challenging for us. =)

Hostile mucus is quite common in women. This is the reason why sperm die off easily without even reaching the uterus.

we had a post coital test too and I was OK. Within levels, according to our RE. We have combination of me not frequently ovulating plus hubby's slow swimmers and we are both in our late 30's.

I had post coital exam and I dont have hostile mucus. Its actually a very easy test, done after intercourse.

This test is one of the first few that women take in order to determine causes why she cannot get pregnant. My wife had this test. She is OK.

Women with hostile mucus have hostile vagina. This makes it hard for them to get pregnant as their mucus kills off most of the sperm before it even reaches the cervix.

Post coital test involves a sampling of your cervical mucus between four to ten hours after the couples had intercourse, whether to determine the mucus in woman cervix is hostile to the sperm.
