what is a less expensive alternative to IVF or ZIFT?

EarthyGal - October 25th, 2010 3:30 AM

You can try IUI. It has a good success rate. Arond 5-25%, higher if the woman is younger and the male has good motility.

You can also try herbal remedies and traditional medicine like Chinese or Ayurveda. They are really good especially if done with conventional techniques.

zift and ivf are really expensive. it can cost anywhere from $10K to $15K per pop!

How about visiting a chirporactor or going for some acupuncture and maybe even chinese medicine? I think these are less expensive than IVF and ZIFT, although they also have risks.

I think the less expensive treatment that I could think of is having natural infertility treatments such as herbs and cheaper but effective fertility supplements.

how about a relaxing vacation? sometimes all people need to do is to relax.

How about ovary stimulating drugs. Clomid or Serophene cost about $100 per cycle and they are quite affordable compared to IVF wich costs 10x more.

It makes me wonder how overpopulation is happening when a lot of us women can't even have a child without the aid of science/medicine. Kinda ironic, isn't it?

Anyway, I heard that going to another country with cheaper medical cost but just about the same facilities used can lessen the costs.

you can try GIFT instead of ZIFT. you can have the option to have GIFT done instead of ZIFT first as it is less expensive and also carries less risk of ectopic pregnancy and multiple births
