in my country ivf costs around GBP 3K++/cycle. It is quite expensive and I am sure that this is also the cost in other countries as well. My concern is, since it is an expensive procedure, what is it's success rate for women in their early 40's and how many cycles does it take to get pregnant?

success rate is around 25%. It also usually takes around 3 cycles before you get pregnant, however getting pregnant in one shot is also not unheard of.

Yes, it's really quite expensive. But I think if you really want to have a baby to call your own, and you can afford it, then why not grab the opportunity.

Three cycles! So that's like 9 thousand pounds!!! how much is that in dollars!!! OMG that's a lot of money!

yeah, well this is why you need to check your insurance policy if it is covered. if not then you need to save coz it usually takes more than 3 cycles to be successful.

I just found out that only part of the test can be covered with our insurance. But that still brings us to about $5K short (it costs $8K here in my country). Hopefully it wont have to end with IVF and we can get pregnant using fertility meds.

It's very very expensive! And chances to get pregnant is so little. I think I have to prefer having IUI.

cost is a very big issue when it comes to infertility. thank god there's insurance to help you part of the way.

Yes it is that expensive here! We bought a 10 years ago and the downpayment was just a little bit higher!

I was just in the clinic and one patient there already had 5 IVF treatments! So it is very costly.
