Is Human Menopausal Gonadotropin effective as infertility medication?

Jr. - October 30th, 2010 2:13 AM

Yes. This is a good treatment for infertility as it induces ovulation. It is composed of lh and fsh which are needed to trigger ovulation.

but there's the "menopausal" word. i thought that it would lead to that...

Anyway, is this similar to HCG? because If i remember correctly HCG also has LH and FSH.

I am not sure what is the exact difference of hmg and hcg but they basically have same results - to stimulate the follicles to produce eggs.

do you know which is more effective? hcg or hmg?

I think it depends on which form of hormones you need. You need to take these factors into consideration first because you are treating the cause.

this is a hormone used to stimulate gonads especially the follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. this works by stimulating ovaries and producing more eggs.

both HCG and HMG stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs for harvesting. I think the more important thing is the quality and quantity of eggs that were harvested.

Ok. So either HCG or HMG is good, I gather? Thanks!

HMG is an injectable preparation that is obtained from the urine of menopausal women, has biological activity similar to that of follicle-stimulating hormone, and is used with chorionic gonadotropin to induce ovulation, so this should be very helpful in helping out those with infertility issues.
