What do you feel or think about implanting a frozen embryo in your womb to solve the conception problem?

hermione - May 30th, 2010 10:18 PM

that could be creepy. why do they have frozen embryos anyway?

Patricia - May 30th, 2010 10:27 PM

Frozen embryos may have come from IVF procedures and some couples would choose to implant only one and leave the other for future circumstances. I don't feel comfortable with such practice.

this is not acceptable for me. why do they make more than one embryo when they only intend to keep one?

They have to implant more than one egg to be sure that the procedure could produce at least one baby. This is not a perfect procedure so it could possibly fail and to minimize the odds of failing it is better to be sure.

so if other couples will have those "extra" embryos for adoption, they can have such option?

i think cryogenics is not yet perfect so i dont consider this an alternative treatment to infertility.

perhaps in the future, but i personally dont see this happening right now.

Yes jen, it is like having to buy some blood in a blood bank. But before the frozen embryo is released the couple should have the approval of the parents of the frozen embryo.
