Can some of the ingredients in fertility medication mess with other medicines a patient is already taking?

Geraldine - May 28th, 2010 4:50 AM

Probably, because every medications have different ingredients. That's why it's good to take fertility medication one at a time to prevent another problem to take place.

yes, that's why better be careful on what medications you are taking..you don't need to take more than one fertility medication because of the harm it might cause to your body.

Fertility drugs have different ingredients that sure to mess with each other that's why my advice is to focus on one fertility drugs and if it doesn't give you a good effect, then consult a doctor first, before taking another fertility drugs, just to make sure it's safe..

absolutely. this is why you need to disclose everything with your doctor when you are into fertility treatments. mixing meds can be dangerous.

pls. make sure you are taking as prescribed by the doctor. Just for assurance and security.

Now this is an older thread but for the benefit of those who will be reading it in the future let me say this:

Never lie to your doctor no matter what. Hiding something because you are embarassed or afraid will do you no good. In fact you should tell the doctor everything that concerns your visit. After all, you are seeking his expert advise and help.

In the case of other drugs that might "mess up" with other drugs, the doctor needs to know your history. That way, the doctor will be able to give you the proper tests and prescriptions.
