I read in this forum that green tea can help get pregnant. But on the other hand, caffeine is dangerous not only for those TTC but also for pregnant women.

So which is it? Caffeine - friend or foe?

it is not good to take for those who are longing to have fertilization, this can add hot flushes.

Foe: babycenter dot com/0_caffeine-during-pregnancy_3955 dot bc

and: chem-tox dot com/pregnancy/coffee dot htm

please remove the spaces and replace the dot accordingly.

Basically: yes, caffeine is dangerous. during and before pregnancy.

The debate is still up... but I would rather avoid caffeine all together if you are TTC and during the pregnancy.

It is just a small sacrifice anyway.

Yes it is a small sacrifice. To some people coffee is like air, but if you want to have a baby or a healthy pregnancy & a healthy baby then it is something that needs to be done.

IMO they can debate on how much caffeine is safe during pregnancy. But let's face it, less is better and if you can go with zero, just do it.

foe.... lay off the coffee, coke and tea while you are TTC.

RamsesIII - September 9th, 2010 3:41 AM

I say foe. I've read countless articles saying that coffee is good because of its antioxidants but it is bad for those who want to get pregnant, are pregnant and mothers who are breastfeeding. So it's Foe.

It is a friend but it may be become a foe. Not all coffee can give the nutrients but it can do some harmful effects to the fertilized eggs.

Good for the guys, bad for the ladies in TTC....

SlimJim - September 13th, 2010 3:15 AM

i personally only drink 3 cups per day. anything more than that is excessive caffeine. people should learn to regulate their coffee intake. coffee is not that bad but some people drink like 8 cups per day! that's abuse already and that's when it becomes bad for the body.
