within 24 hours after fertilization, the zygote or the fertilized egg would undergo a series of divisions. 1st into a four-cell zygote, then into 6-12 cells, on the 4th day, the zygote has 16-32 cells. there are many divisions before it becomes a fetus.

It is not easy to have a baby,it makes so many cell divisions before it attach to the lining of the uterus. The zygote during the first week of pregnancy enters the fallopian tube and travels to the uterus.

It's a miracle how something so small can become a baby within just a few short weeks!

The second week of pregnancy is connected mostly with implantation it is the process which the fertilized egg or zygote attaches itself to the endometrium, the inner lining of the uterus richly supplied with blood vessels.

It has many divisions that there are names every divisions, from the zygote to cleavage to morula to blastula or blastocyst which made up of several types of cells. One type is located on the outer hollow part of the blastocyst. These cells attach themselves to the lining of the uterus.
