if a woman frequently experiences threatened abortion while pregnant but still able to carry to full term, does this mean that she has fertility issues?

It can be a problem since threatened abortion is a sign of an underlying problem especially if it happens more than once. Better get it checked, dear.

If you have had more than two cases of almost losing your baby then perhaps you should consult a doctor to help you carry to term. This is stressful not only for the mom but for the baby too.

I had threatened abortion while pregnant with my eldest but had no problems carrying to term. My sister almost aborted too. Is this related to genetics?

Maybe it's an underlying cause. I have heard of women who are having a difficult time while pregnant. Some experience bleeding and cramps while others are bed ridden throughout the pregnancy. I believe that there are other external factors why women have a hard time carrying like stress and the like.

It is better to have a time in seeking advice from a friend doctor, talk to him/her heartily and get yourself ready for any negative comments, if ever, follow whatever advice be given to you.

I think this is the same if you are frequently misscarrying. Even if it is only threatened it can be caused by some weakness or disease in the reproductive organs. Better have it checked Jollen.

Is this means that there were times of successful pregnancy? And there were also times of miscarriages, am I not right?

heatherlyn - July 10th, 2010 9:22 AM

I don't think so, maybe it's just a coincidence.Threatened abortion is a kind of pregnancy that's threatened by bleeding..If a woman experience this almost all of her pregnancies, then she need a support group and help from the experts who will tell her what proper things to do to make her carry the baby until full term.

Maybe it is or maybe it is not the meaning but the only person who can make exact explanation of this matter is the expert doctor.

if its happened at least once then there's a problem, you know the saying where there's smoke theres fire.

one of the reasons why a woman miscarries is the lack of progesterone so maybe a full blood work out can clear up any problems.
