There are those who suffer from POF or sometimes known as premature menopause. The usual menopausal age is 40 but some experience it during the early 30s. What could be the causes for such?

the cause is normally because of genetic abnormalities. this only covers about 10% of the women experiencing POF and the rest of the cause is still unknown.

There are also some environmental factors that may cause POF but as --y-- said most of the cause is idiopathic or unknown.

how will we know that we are having such problem? except maybe because we are not menstruating anymore, other symptoms for this?

Ok, and is there any way we will be able to know that we have POF earlier so as to help it or treat it?

i think the best way is to have a check-up and there are some symptoms that goes with it that may be enough to make you suspicious that you might have some problem.

can cramping be a symptom of POF?

some symptoms includes hot flashes, vaginal dryness, decrease in sexual drive and night sweats. i don't think cramping is a symptom of POF.

Perhaps abnormal FSH levels. When FSH levels are high, this means there is ovulation. But if it is always low, then the body is tricked into early menopause.
