Can Women with PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrom still get pregnant? What are their chances?

BabyRuth - June 26th, 2010 4:26 PM

I hear that it's slim but my sister has PCOS but was diagnosed early and had a baby at 29 after trying for 4 years. She had to lose a lot of weight since obesity can screw up hormone levels. She also changed lifestyles, exercised more and got more rest.

PCOS is not an insurmountable obstacle if you want to get pregnant.

more and more women are suffering from pcos. although the chances are slim, having hope is important when you want to successfully conceive while having this disease.

PCOS is genetic but they don't know why.

Most PCOS women are also overweight. If you have hirsuitism, is overweight and suffers from missing periods, then you can have PCOS.

The chances of women who have PCOS are slim but their are chances, anyway!, we don't lose hope for everyday there is sun which always light our day.

I agree. While we dont have PCOS, I understand the difficulties couples go through just to get pregnant. To think that 50 years ago, infertility wasn't a big issue. Now its getting common.
