As we all know a woman's ovarian reserves get depleted as she ages. This is why it is difficult for some women to get pregnant as they age.

However, is it possible to measure ovarian reserves?

this is done by measuring FSH levels. women who have reached menopause are considered to have a depleted ovarian reserve.

I guess this is normal. We have millions of eggs but we only release one every month. This is to ensure that our species continue with the best genetic components we have.

so when we reach menopause there are zero viable eggs. this is good news. i myself cant imagine getting pregnant over 40...which is why i have to get pregnant now while I am still young... :)

its the cycle of a woman's life. honestly i cant imagine myself in my 40's and being a first time mom. I already have a little girl and if I wont get pregnant this year, then my daughter will have to be an only child...

But it is better to try than not at all. Or else you can have only one child.
