what is the difference between a hysterosalpingogram and a laparoscopy?

Hope4Ever - October 26th, 2010 3:14 AM

A laparascopy is like an inspection of the different components of the reproductive system while hysterosalpingogram involves injecting a catether with a die to inspect the uterus.

laparascopy is just exploratative surgery. its like a check up, not a cure.

hehe..just the sound of the two..scares me already..I think both of these are serious kinds of infertility surgery.

Partner had a hysterosalpingogram in the past. it is done with a catether and a die to check for the shape and condition of the uterus and fallopian tubes.

to sk8:

so this is not a form of surgery? it is just like an x-ray but with dyes?

SK8 - October 31st, 2010 1:47 AM

partner had a hysterosalpingogram a couple of years back to check for blockages in her fallopian tubes.

thanks for the input. We have been through many tests and they seem familiar or similar. It has become confusing at times.
