I went through a Hysterosalpingogram a few months back. This procedure checks for blockages in the fallopian tubes and doctors are able to check for the shape of the uterus via a dye that is injected.

pretty cool technology and its not too invasive compared to a laparascopy.

IMO, the less invasive the better. Invasive procedures are sometimes necessary but if it is avoidable, I am all for it.

I had a transvaginal ultrasound, a sonogram and lots of blood tests. I'm not adverse to surgery if it will help.

As I understand this Hysterosalpingogram only needs a small incision in the stomach, right? So I agree with Lawrence that the less invasive, the better :).

My cousin had a Hysterosalpingogram because she had a t-shaped uterus. it was so to confirm the shape.

Thanks for the wonderful info you have shared to us..think many others would love to try this also.

I had Hysterosalpingogram too and discovered that one of my fallopian tubes are damaged.

will an xray be able to tell if the uterus is t-shaped?

Artemis - September 17th, 2010 4:26 PM

We had ultrasound, numerous blood test, semen analysis and a test with the mucus.. forgot the name but no Hysterosalpingogram for us.

had one because my RE suspected a t-shaped uterus. it's almost t-shaped but not quite so its causing me problems getting pregnant. good thing the Hysterosalpingogram was able to tell what's wrong.
