How can these two affect our fertility?

missybonbon - July 4th, 2010 3:34 AM

both are caused by hormonal imbalance and we all know how important hormones are when we want to get pregnant. In hyperthyroidism there is too much hormones and the opposite is true with hypothyroidism.

Thyroid diseases can hamper conception but not all the time. Hypo can cause difficulties in ovulation. Hyper is more problematic than hypo as it can cause misscarriage. this is why thyroid problems should be checked before hand.

There are signs which you are very tired as if you were in a long walk, there are times you want to burst out which you don't know why you wanted to fight in other words you are moody, there are many symptoms which can be figured out but according to the doctor, the symptoms are in accordance to the body reactions.

these symptoms sound so generalized. is there a test that can confirm either?

im sure that a blood test can tell you if your hormone levels are elevated. my question is there a simple check you can do at home to see if your tyroid glands are swollen?
