is there any center or clinics where we can preserve our eggs for future fertilization?

supermom - June 6th, 2010 9:23 PM

as i've searched about it most of the cases are unsuccessful compared to freezing embryos. it is difficult to freeze oocytes because it has lots of water in it that can form ice crystals once froze and may destroy the egg's cell structure.

this is really interesting but of course if they freeze oocytes they should make sure that such oocyte is healthy.

Of course kim. They have discovered a solution for the ice crystals, it is called vitrification where they freeze the egg very quickly that it will give no time for the ice crystals to form.

they call the procedure oocyte cryopreservation. it is a new technology and it would greatly help women especially those who are still single and needs to preserve their for suture pregnancy.

cryobanks are popping up in big cities now a days. you can have your eggs frozen there. i dunno how much they cost though.

for how long can our egg be stored there?

I got interested with this information, but what is the disadvantage that may result from it? I'm just a curious guy.

I've heard these matter but I'm not sold the idea to preserve the eggs, these might good to some but it might not good to others.

It is not 100%success, it may pass through a thick and thin procedure. But there must a hope in one's heart.

Im sure if you look through the yellow pages you will find clinics in your area that do so. If I may, why are you freezing your eggs?
