Can endometrial cancer make you permanently infertile/sterile?

NadineChoo - September 9th, 2010 3:49 AM

in some cases, the uterus is removed if you have endometrial cancer. so it it would make you permanently sterile and infertile.

It depends upon the situation of the woman, But if it can give her worst damages, then it is better to have permanently infertile than to think of illness.

ouch... if the womb is not removed, there is also possiblity that she has to undergo chemo therapy. hence she can become infertile or sterile due to the chemo.

now at the works of the researchers, we can have some cases of cancers who already survive of their illness. Don't worry about cancers. Just pray with faith.

Some people who survive cancer have problems with fertility. This is because of the medicine used. chemo for example can have reproductive problems because the chemo can damage sperm or ovaries.

I agree with Helene. It might not be endometrial cancer but Breast cancer can also cause fertility problems especially since you are give chemo therapy. With any type of cancer there is always a risk to fertility.

In some cases where the uterus is not removed, part of the endometrial lining is scraped off. This scraping can cause scar tissue and make a woman have a hard time getting pregnant.

A friend had a complete hysterectomy at 25 after they discovered cancer cells in her endometrial lining. So endometrial cancer can strike anybody at anytime.

Women who do not get their periods regularly are at risk since the endometrial lining gets thicker and is repeatedly exposed to estrogen.
